Portishead branch line
The Portishead Railway is a branch line railway running from Portishead in North Somerset to the main line immediately west of Bristol, England. It was constructed by the Bristol & Portishead Pier and Railway Company, but it was always operated by its main line neighbour, and was more usually thought of as the Portishead branch or the Portishead railway. WebThe Portishead Branch Line DCO Scheme comprises the NSIP and its associated development. The reconstruction of the disused section of the railway line between Portishead and Pill falls within the definition of a NSIP for the purposes of Section 25 of the Planning Act 2008, being the construction of a railway over 2 km in length.
