WebSolved by converting to .csv .Works with .csv files using both xlsread and csvread Problem 2: Dates are pulled as imaginary number with and without other columns. Solved this used textread, to pull data in as a string. Still have issues pulling date data into the same array - gets split up into multiple arrays (will post code format soon)*
